Takosan began to manufacture electronic circuits in 1995.

Electronic circuits, the most comprehensive and distinctive element of the instrument clusters in the vehicles, are manufactured and controlled with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) according to the following international standards.

Testing and inspection techniques like ICT (In-Circuit Test) and AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) are used as an integral part of the production. These techniques require compliance with high quality standards such as:

  • IPC-A-610: Acceptability of electronic assemblies

  • IPC J-STD-001D: Requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies

  • IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B: Handling, packing, shipping and use of moisture/reflow sensitive surface mount devices

  • IPC-9850: Surface mounts placement equipment characterization

  • IPC-7711: Rework of electronic assemblies

  • IEC-61340-5-1: Protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena – General requirement

  • ANSI/ESD S541-2003: Packaging materials for ESD sensitive items.

Assembly and Testing

With long years of experience and expertise, Takosan uses fully automated assembly and control technologies based on error-proofing and efficiency without human intervention and attention. The engineering team at Takosan designs, develops and deploys the processes according to customer expectations and requirements.

Plastic Injection and Mold

Takosan recognizes that products that meet customer expectations can only be manufactured with accurately designed production equipment. Reflecting this understanding on the plastic injection molds since the 90s, Takosan uses modern technologies and tooling in plastic parts production. Takosan follows the principle that plastic molding and manufacturing expertise and know-how are an integral part of the product development capabilities.

Screen Printing

Instrument cluster dials, a visual element directly facing the vehicle’s user, are manufactured with automatic screen-printing machines in a Class-100K clean chamber standard and a climate-controlled environment. Since its establishment, Takosan designs and manufactures production molds, die cutting patterns/blades, and dials with screen printing technique. The dials are manufactured with screen-printing technology applied on polycarbonate and aluminum sheets for both vehicles and other non-automotive industries.
